DR. JOHN C. GODBOLD, JR.

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Dr. Godbold received a Bachelor of Science degree from Centre College of Kentucky in 1974. He graduated with honors from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. Following two years of rural practice in Smithfield, North Carolina, Dr. Godbold established Stonehaven Park Veterinary Hospital in 1980.

Dr. Godbold grew up wanting to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. At age 12 he began working in the practice of his family's veterinarians. "Those doctors were, and still are, heroes to me.

"They were models of compassion and advanced practice technology." Dr. Godbold has published numerous articles in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, LaserPoints and the Newsletter of the Veterinary Laser Surgical Society. He has written numerous articles on the applications of surgical lasers in veterinary practice and in 2002 published The Atlas of Laser Surgical Procedures, now in its fifth edition. He travels throughout the United States and Canada to schools of veterinary medicine, continuing education programs and conferences giving lectures and conducting seminars about laser surgery techniques. He is active in church and community affairs and enjoys leisure time with his wife and daughters.

TAMI D. MITCHELL

Growing up in rural Hernando, Mississippi, Tami has been around animals all of her life. She has an especially soft spot for horses, and is an easy target for stray and disabled animals. Her family has two dogs (one three-legged), three cats (one missing toes), five quarter horses, and an ever changing collection of ducks, chickens, rabbits, and goats. Horses and rodeos are a major part of Tami's leisure activity.

She is a barrel racer; her two teenage sons ride bulls, and her husband is a retired bull rider. Tami breaks and trains horses, gives riding lessons, and teaches barrel racing.

Tami joined the Stonehaven Park Veterinary Hospital staff in 1992. Her job is a natural extension of her love for all animals.

JENNIFER DONALDSON

As a child growing up in Jackson, Jennifer Donaldson's family brought their pets to Stonehaven Park Veterinary Hospital for care. (Dr. Godbold can remember when Jennifer could barely see over the exam tables. And yes ² that does make him feel old!).

Since that early age, Jennifer has wanted to work with animals.

She graduated from Northside High School, attended Jackson State, and then received certification as an Animal Care Specialist from the PCDI School of Animal Science.

Jennifer began working at the hospital in 1998. She enjoys reading, golf, and spending time with her husband; her son Dylan, born in 2000; and her dog Rudy, a Jack Russell/Boston Terrier mix.

Doc is the hospital's resident cat. He came to the office as a stray and was adopted by Dr. Godbold. Doc enjoys playing as much as possible - he especially loves his toy mice. If you ever find him dropping a toy mouse by your feet, he is probably looking for a quick game of fetch! Doc is friendly and loves meeting all the new animals and people that come into the office
